Bellweather Design-Build Voted one of the Best Places to Work in 2020
We are so excited to receive this recognition from the Philadelphia Business Journal! Joey Willhite, our General Manager has the responsibility of guiding us in our company culture. "We've been honored to receive many awards this year, but this one -- by far -- is the most humbling.
Our team works hard for our clients every day. But even more, we work hard for each other. Thanks to our entire team for making Bellweather the best place to work. During these strange and difficult times, I can count on you to make my days a little easier."
How did we do this? We put a lot of energy into regular staff bonding and development activities -- and not just baby showers and birthday cakes! We regularly meet to discuss staff personality profiles to help with internal communication; we sponsor professional management training with industry leaders; we arrange for each team member to receive continuing education credits; we hold regular reviews on how we can improve interdepartmental collaboration; we prioritize a healthy work-life balance; we provide generous compensation packages with flexible vacation, personal days, and medical benefits.
And yes, we do the fun stuff too: pizza and beer happy hours, Halloween costume contests, cookie bake-offs, afternoon Phillie's games, weekend retreats to Ocean City, MD, and our annual Christmas/holiday party.
As we carefully grow our company systems, we understand that each of our staff needs to carry the Bellweather message in every interaction with clients and trade partners. The motivation for excellence is reinforced through much more than just compensation or company culture. We look for staff with the excellence gene and mentor them into success. Each of our sales, design and construction managers are coached to provide our clients and fellow team members with solutions under reasonable levels of stress and to make everyone around them look good and feel great about the process.
