One of our projects was featured in a Philadelphia Inquirer article about laundry rooms. Stephanie Hoffmeier, our lead designer, offered her insights: “You can have fun in your laundry room,” Hoffmeier said.
“If you have money left over to splurge [on your project], I say go for the ceramic tile floor with a crazy pattern, install a fun backsplash, and even have some fun with paint color… If it was more of an aesthetically pleasing space, I bet homeowners would feel more encouraged to do the laundry!”
Almost 75% of our whole-house renovations include relocating a laundry up to the bedroom area. The design challenges usually involve reconfiguring walls in one or two rooms in order to provide the best layout with the least impact.
The featured laundry room project was part of a larger addition in South Philadelphia. The new 2nd floor renovation (conveniently relocated from an unfinished basement) included a flip-down countertop, lots of extra storage space, an under-mount sink and fold-down drying racks.
