A client’s vision for her new living room was complicated by a turn in the main staircase that terminated in the center of the space. The client was committed to preserving as many period details as possible. We removed the landing and engineered a stair section that salvaged the original oak treads and bent risers, and extended the Victorian newel post. The walnut inlay was replicated in front of the stairs to match the adjacent floor detail.
